Io e Spotty

Matteo, 22, is a motion graphic designer for a production cartoon film company in Bologna. In his solitary universe, he gets back from work and gets dressed as a dog and pretends to be Spotty, a role that makes him feel good with himself, unlike when he is just a “human being”. One day Matteo posts a search online for a dog sitter. Eva replies, a 25-year-old student, who lives a chaotic life, loses small jobs one after the other and has only highly improbable romances

Biography Cosimo Gomez

Set designer and director, Cosimo Gomez (1965, Florence) graduated in graphic arts from the Istituto d’arte in Florence and from the Accademia di belli arti in Rome. He began working in the cinema in the 1990s as a set designer, with Ermanno Olmi, Giuliano Montaldo, Franco Zeffirelli and Roberto Benigni among others. In 2012, he decided to send one of his writings, “Brutti e cattivi”, to the Solinas Prize, the most important Italian award for film subjects, and won. He directed the film in 2017, followed by “Io e Spotty” in 2022, which won the audience award at the Taormina Film Fest. His third feature film is in post-production, “Il mio nome è vendetta”.
