Abdelinho

He lives in a small town in Morocco. He is fascinated by everything that has to do with Brazil, to the point that he speaks the language fluently, dances the samba regularly and is madly in love with Maria, a telenovela heroine. When a televangelist comes to town, Abdelinho’s life and the whole town are turned upside down.

Biography Hicham Ayouch

Franco-Moroccan director born in 1976. He began his career as a journalist. In 2005, he shot “Les Reines du Roi”, a documentary on the status of women in Morocco. In 2007, he directed “Poussières d’ange”, a documentary about mentally handicapped athletes. It was with “Fissures”, his first feature film, that he gained international recognition. This was followed by “Comme ils disent” in 2012, a short film for the Sharjah Art Biennale. “Fièvres” is his second feature film, winner of several awards in major festivals including the Etalon d’or at Fespaco. “Abdelinho” is his fourth feature film.
